    History
    This Policy was first drafted on the November 7, 2005 and circulated to the Personnel and Legal Departments for comment. The current draft incorporates their comments.
    The Policy was first approved by the Government on February 23rd 2006.
    There have been no amendments to date.

    The Initiative:
    The Jagdeo Initiative for Agricultural Repositioning represents the product of a consultative process
    intended to jump-start a much wider and more involved process for agricultural repositioning. Broadly
    defined, this ‘repositioning’ Initiative is focused on identifying critical programmes for the amelioration of
    ten Key Binding Constraints (KBC) to agriculture and crafting strategies for the resurgence of the
    agricultural potential in Member states, individually and as a region. Agriculture’s continuing vulnerability
    to natural hazards partly the result of ‘Deficient and Uncoordinated Risk Management Measures’ has been
    identified as one of these 10 KBCs that require immediate attention in a comprehensive and holistic manner.
